GainBite privacy
GainBite is a private app for a small invited group. This page explains what it stores and why.
What GainBite stores
- Your account: name, email and a scrambled (hashed) password.
- What you log: workouts, meals, weigh-ins and your profile (age, height, sex, goal), so they are backed up and reach your other devices.
- Progress photos: encrypted on your phone with a key made from your password before they are uploaded. The server only holds the encrypted copy and cannot see them.
- Health numbers: each day's steps, active calories and weight, read from Health Connect (Android) or sent by your Apple Shortcut (iPhone). They are used only to work out your daily calorie burn.
- Meal photos for the AI scan: sent once to the AI service to estimate calories, and not kept afterwards.
Health Connect
On Android, GainBite asks to read steps, active calories burned and weight. It never writes to Health Connect, never reads anything else, and you can remove access at any time in Health Connect's settings.
Who can see your data
Only you. Each account's data is kept apart, nothing is sold or shared, and there are no ads or trackers. Data is stored with Cloudflare.
Deleting your data
You can delete any entry or photo in the app. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email contact@gainbite.com from the address you signed up with, or use the contact form. It is done within 7 days and we confirm by email.
